DEPARTMENT PROFILE
The Department of Information Technology was established in the academic year 2001-02 with an annual intake of 60.The Department isaccredited by NBA (National Board of Accreditation,AICTE, Delhi) for 5 years. The intake is increased to 120 from the academic year 2008-09. In addition to this intake the department has 10% lateral entry students at the II B. Tech. level.
The B.Tech. programme is duly approved by the AICTE and the Government of Andhra Pradesh and is affiliated to JNTU, Kakinada.
The Department is accredited by NBA (National Board of Accreditation, AICTE, Delhi) for 5 years. Four batches of students have graduated so far. The Department has a number of well-equipped laboratories and provides excellent facilities for learning. All Computer Labs and servers are supported by robust and reliable UPS system with 30 min. backup. In addition the labs are also supported by a 420KVA generator.
The Department periodically organizes seminars, symposia, work shops and guest lectures for the benefit of both the students and the faculty. Personality Development programs are regularly conducted for the benefit of the students. These programmes help in imparting and developing soft skills which help the students to enhance the commitment at all levels.
OBJECTIVES

To provide our students with the ability to perform analysis, specification, design and implementation of quality computer solutions.
- To develop students with theoretical computer science backgrounds and the mathematical and analytical maturity necessary to allow them to adapt to changing requirements in the job market or enter graduate programs.
- To instill within our students the technical, communicative, and character skills that will prepare them for leadership roles.
- To empower our students with the knowledge and spiritual foundation necessary to make ethical and responsible choices.
