Women have had to fight valiantly over the
centuries to get recognized in every field, including
engineering. Now though quantitatively the
representation of women in Engineering has
increased appreciably, qualitatively it requires a lot
of encouragement from the society.
Women sustaining in their engineering careers,
particularly in industries and reaching the top are
still very few. WIECON’12 is organized with the sole
aim of bringing together women engineering role
models who have carved a name for themselves in the engineering field with the aspiring students,
teachers and professionals in a congenial
environment. The best practices are to be discussed
and perfected so that the attendees will have a
direction to work on towards making a success of
their engineering careers.
The programme will
cover a wide range of skill development workshops,
panel discussions on women career related issues
and entrepreneurship ideas. The speakers from IEEE
top leadership from HQ, Asia Pacific Region and
Sections along with role models from all over the
region in academia and industry will cover a range
of issues on women in engineering.
